We just might melt! · posted Jul 31, 03:41 AM

Well Saturday was only supposed to get into the mid 90’s and it got up to 110! I don’t know how many days we’ve been above 100 but I’m guessing it’s been almost 20 with maybe one day where we only hit 99. :) Next Tuesday says high in the upper 80’s…that would be a nice change!

A BIG Congratulations to Jeremiah for running the Deseret 10K Race with the Air Force flag! He ran with some other military branches and only had a weeks notice that they wanted him to hold the AF flag. They made it in about an hour! Jeremiah had a little trip to the medical tent after he finished the race but he’s just fine now…except for his legs, they still hurt a little bit! We are all proud of you!

Davin drew a baloon the other and then yelled for me to come look at it! He’s also very good at drawing himself! :)

We gave Davin a little potty training award ribbon since he starting potty training over a year ago and hasn’t worn diapers for over a year. He’s been trained for quite some time now and I’ve almost forgot what it’s like having to ask him 10 times a day if he needs to go to the bathroom. :) So Congratulations to Davin. Davin said he wanted to talk about people the other night before he went to bed. I asked what kind of people and he said “Let’s talk about the people with no necks”. I gave him the ‘I have no idea what you’re talking about’ look. He said “You know, and the ones with sticks for chins down by the water”. Then I remembered we watched something on the discovery channel about Africans a few months ago. I have no idea how he remembers this stuff!

Davin’s new pet…Freddy the snail! Freddy really like lettuce!

Davin and Brendin at the RSL vs DC United Soccer Game Saturday Night

Brendin is walking around a lot faster these days! He’s also decided he doesn’t mind wearing flip-flops and he can walk in them. He’s trying to say a ton of words but Snack and Please are the most common!

Oh and Grandpa Dave, Davin says he would like to take you to the Aviary tomorrow….that is if you can make it! :)

MORE wacky Brend-o hair after a nap!

Here’s an average size serving of fruit…for Brendin. Then he’ll follow up with something like a PB&J sanwhich and probably ask for another!

Ice cream truck ride at the mall.

We went to the Tracy Aviary at Liberty Park. I don’t know why we didn’t go earlier. It was really nice and almost all of it was in the shade. We could barely tell it was 106 (Ha!). This first picture if an African Hornbill. They were really cool birds. They had human like eyes and really long eyelashes. We also went in to feed the Parrots. Davin did a really good job. He had the handler help him get a bird on him and then after about 5 minutes said “it’s starting to hurt a little bit”. The bird moved onto his forearm and he didn’t like his sharp claws. So he asked the lady to get him off. Then a bird landed on his back and he stood there like a deer in headlights! Brendin stuck his finger out and got a little nibble from a bird. He cried for a minute and then stuck his finger out again!

About 2 seconds after I took this picture the bird next to Brendin bit him! :(

We also found a cute little ‘Davin sized’ carnival in Liberty Park.

Camping Trip & Park Pics · posted Jul 17, 04:56 AM

Jeremiah thought it would be a good idea to go camping last weekend. He thinks differently now!! The camping trip got cut short due to transmission problems in our van. We had it towed to Rock Springs WY and had to spend the night there since it was a Sunday. On Monday the dealership made us wait until 4pm before they looked at the transmission for about 5 minutes and told us it would be $3100. So since we couldn’t even find a hotel with rooms available for that night we had our friend Ed get a tow dolly and come get us. THANKS ED! We got home after midnight and we were so glad to be home. Here’s a cow on a big rock…I didn’t think it was real and we have no idea how he made it up there.

At the KOA pool

Warming our tootsies!

Davin playing with the golf set he got from Jeff and Karen on his birthday.

Brendin can climb up the slide now.

Oopsie! I had just finished Jeremiah’s hair and didn’t have the #2 guard on it so I took a little chunk out of the front of Davin’s hair! He still looks cute. :)

It’s been up to 106, 107 and 108 outside…too hot to even be at the Park unless it’s after 8pm. It’s supposed to cool off next week and I’m looking forward to the water park! Brendin has been saying a lot of words. He says “Night night” “Bye bye” “Please” (that was the best word he’s ever learned!!) “Davin” “Nanana” (for banana, his favorite thing ever) “Ball” “I see you”. That’s all I can remember for now. My brain is gone after spending a week trying to figure out how to lose the least amount of money on this van situation! Hope everyone is staying cool.

Picnic at the Park and then a bath to clean up the dirty boys! I’m not sure what it is but that doesn’t even look like Brendin in the bath!

At Grandpa Jeff’s shop. Kaleb and Davin took turns riding the quad and motorcycle. Noah just stood there shaking his hand saying “No I’m good!”

Waynette did a beautiful job on these cakes! I couldn’t believe how perfectly they matched the invitations, plates, cups etc. Thanks Waynette, you’re the best!!

Grandma’s having a talk. Judy, you missed out on being the 6th Grandma at the party!

Yummy cake! Davin thought it was a pie eating contest! Brendin got super messy and ate half of his mini cake!

It’s a jungle in here Noah!

We had tons of inflatable animals and animal beach balls. The kids had a lot of fun playing soccer and then animal bowling.

Cole, Noah, Kaleb and Davin all trying to break open the pinata.

Opening gifts and getting a little help from the cousins.

A FIREMAN SUIT!! Davin loved this gift!

Brendin…hanging out on the floor with the deflated animals. I think he was tired!

Mom got what she asked for and still wasn’t ready to receive it! We all pitched in and got a Lucy photo autographed to her script writer.

Davin was ready for the old time photo and did so well even thought it was a crazy process!

At the baptism BBQ. Hanging out with Grandpa Wally & Soccer with aunt Wendy.

Thanks G&G Mollman for the cool tent! Although he doesn’t like the smell, we had to spray some room spray in his room to get the tent smell out!

Our Old Time Photos turned out great! I got one in color to see how it would turn out.

Also, the boys had their checkups. Here’s how they measure up at 1 & 3 years.

Davin got his blood pressure taken for the first time and also an eye exam. He really thought that was cool. He just said “ouch” when he got his shot and helped Brendin get his. Brendin also did really well and started to cry at shot #3 but the sucker gave him a big smile!

Birthday Party Invite · posted Jun 8, 10:16 PM

Here is Davin & Brendin’s invitation for those of you who didn’t get one in the mail. Sorry if you didn’t get one, I only had 20 invitations and I don’t have everyone’s mailing address anyways. On Davin’s birthady, June 12th we’re having a party at Fat Cats bowling since they have an arcade and a kids play area. Plus great pizza. Davin is really excited. We went and picked out his cake last night. We also looked around on Amazon.com and added some things to a registry that Davin & Brendin might like.

Brendin loves this little couch that we got last year. You say “where’s your couch?” And he runs and plops on it.

Talk about picture of the week. Brendin was hamming it up in the pool. Brendin loved the water park! He went down slides with us and splashed around in the water.

Jeremiah coming down the mother of all waterslides! It actually dips down once then goes straight up and most people don’t make it over the top hump but when you do you can catch some nice air!

Davin singing his own rendition of Mocking Bird! Don’t ask why ‘mustache’ appears in the song! This is actually from a couple of months ago but I forgot to put it up.

Davin wanted to draw a picture of himself this morning and then woke me up to show me this. I said “What is this Davin?” He said “It’s a jelly fish to me, I think.” Then he added whiskers! Jeremiah and I were so amazed, I had no idea he could draw something so well!!

OBX Vacation-We're baaack! · posted May 24, 08:34 PM

Davin’s last kick-in of the season!

Ready for takeoff! The boys did extremely well on the plane despite the small emergency we had. On the 2nd flight out there we made an emergency landing in Tennessee going from Dallas to Norfolk. The flight crew could smell smoke on the back of the plane near the engines and the pilot came on and said ‘I’m sure you noticed me making a right turn and that we are going down…’. He was not messing around. Jeremiah said ‘Someone should tell him this isn’t a helicopter!” Davin woke up from all the turbulence and seemed fine with it. He was even more pleased to see our welcoming commitee; abut 10 ambulances and firetrucks surrounding the runway. It was definitely a little scary especially since Jeremiah was at the back of the plane getting ready to change Brendin’s diaper when they announced the emergency landing. We had to sit on the runway while they checked out the plane since they don’t really want a plane that’s on fire near the terminal. When we got on the ground Davin said “Do we get to use the slides?!” The guy behind us said “I wanted to use the slide too!”. There was another American Airlines flight overnighting there so it really wasn’t too long of a wait before we got boarded onto the other plane. About 5 people came up to us and told us we had the best behaved kids in the world. One lady said “My Grandkids wouldn’t have lasted as long as they did!” The captains always said hi to Davin and he liked the fact that he could see the light for the seatbelt sign and know when he had to be buckled in.

We made it to our beach house…just in time for the sunrise! It was a long night but with the boys not making a peep on the plane it wasn’t that bad at all.

Ouch!

Playing on the beach next to our beach house. Davin dug a hole for Aunt Dede to stand in. Davin and Daddy are flying a kite. There was a nice stiff breeze for it!

The pool and hottub at our house. The pool wasn’t heated but it was still nice to watch Jeremiah swim in!

At the Hatteras light house. This is a huge lighthouse and it was actually moved from another location due to rising waters.

Playing miniature golf. Davin picked the Pirate ship golf course over the dinosaur course.

At the beautiful NC Aquarium. If you notice the turtle is posing, for a while we thought it was a statue but then he moved a tiny bit!

Touching the stingrays and starfish

Brendin on the surfboard while Daddy was out getting a lesson

More Wacky Brend-O hair!

Fishing on the Pier with Grandpa

GRAVE DIGGER!!! We stopped at Grave Digger’s house since Davin loves monster trucks. We also saw Monster Mutt and the Air Force monster truck in the shop.

We stayed one full day in VA before we flew out and went to Busch Gardens. Davin had so much fun. There were a ton of rides for him to ride on. The Battering Ram was the best, he wasn’t sure what to do when his stomach started turning. Amazingly he wanted to go on it again.

They had a little carnival set up on the boardwalk in Virginia Beach. I have no idea how, after a full 7 hours at Busch Gardens, Davin wanted to ride on one more ride. The weather was beautiful that night.

We had some time before the plane took off so we went to the Botanical Gardens. We went there when Davin was just a few months old. I can’t believe how beautiful it is. Some of it was closed off due to nesting eagles but they had viewing stations so we were able to see them.

Eating snacks in the airport. The flights were good on the way back. They slept the entire second flight even though it was delayed about an hour. We got hom a little after midnight. Rachel and Drew were already at our house so they drove the van to pick us up. Then they stayed with us for a few days and left early this morning. I’ll post some pictures from their visit in a few days. I think I have enough up for this post!

We had a great trip. Our vacation house was beautiful and huge. It was brand new and had everything we needed. We all got to have our own room. It definitely beat staying in a hotel. Plus watching sunrises and sunsets from the decks were so nice. We’re planning to go to Hawaii the end of July and can’t wait to swim in the warm ocean after the frigid water in the Outer Banks.

PS Congratulations Ed & Sarah

Yard Sale! · posted May 11, 03:35 AM

We went down to our friends house on Friday and stayed the night so we could get up early and have a yard sale. Davin had a lot of fun playing with the beagles Bella and Bailey.

Sunday was beautiful and we went to the Zoo. Davin got to play around in the waterfall pool since it was filled up. Brendin has been sick since Saturday. He got sick in his crib in the middle of the night and again in the morning. He was so tired he wouldn’t even eat any breakfast so we put him right back to bed. He slept just about all day and has barely been awake for more than an hour at a time since then. It seems like he’s just tired and maybe has a little tummy ache. It’s probably the same thing Davin had on Wednesday but just a little worse. Anyways, it’s hard to get many smiles out of him but at least he’s doing mostly sleeping.

On Saturday we’ll be flying out to meet my sister and Dad in Virginia and then we’re driving to the Outer Banks to stay in a beach house for a week. So this might be my last post until we get back.

Oh and Davin did great in his soccer game, he said he did a couple of shoots for me. :)

Lucky for Davin their office chair didn’t sell…

UPDATE We took Brendin to the doctor today since his diapers are still really messy. He said with this virus that can last for 10-12 days. Yuck! Hopefully it will be over with before the plane ride. I’m so glad he’s a relaxed guy because I know his stomach has to feel terrible and going on day 5 I’m sure he’s tired of this all. Jeremiah seems to have caught it too. He was in bed all day. Doc said it’s much shorter for adults, good news I guess! Oh and I think Brendin weighed in at about 22lbs 4 oz.
